Wed Apr 30 04:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Zipline Operator Detained in Pahalgam Terror Attack Investigation

**Srinagar, India –** The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is questioning a zipline operator, Muzamil Ahmed Kumhar, in connection with the April 22nd terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadows that killed 26 people. Kumhar was heard chanting “Allahu Akbar” in a tourist’s video taken moments before the attack.

While Kumhar’s family claims his chanting was a routine religious expression unrelated to the attack, the NIA is investigating whether he had any links to the terrorists. His brother stated Kumhar was unaware of the impending attack and was simply operating the zipline. Despite being briefly released after initial questioning, he was re-detained on Monday.

Three Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, including two Pakistanis and one local, are suspected of carrying out the attack. A large-scale search operation is underway to apprehend them.

Meanwhile, 59 Pakistani nationals residing in the Kashmir Valley for decades have been transported to Punjab for repatriation. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has discussed the attack with several foreign counterparts, reiterating India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and vowing strong action against perpetrators. The RSS-affiliated Organiser newspaper highlighted concerns about intelligence gaps and continued infiltration from Pakistan-occupied territories as contributing factors to the attack.
