**Visakhapatnam, April 30, 2025:** Four members of the same family died in a tragic wall collapse at the Simhachalam temple in Visakhapatnam early this morning. The victims have been identified as Pilla Umamaheswar Rao (30), his wife Shailaja (26), Shailaja’s mother Venkataratnam, and her maternal aunt Gujjuri Mahalakshmi.
Rao and Shailaja, both software engineers working from home in Hyderabad, were waiting in a special darshan queue at around 2 AM when a temple wall collapsed, instantly killing them and two other family members. Locals and relatives described the couple as loving and friendly. Their untimely deaths have cast a pall of gloom over their village, Chandrampaalem. The incident has sparked widespread grief and raised concerns about safety at the temple. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse.
