**CHENNAI, INDIA (April 29, 2025)** – The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai unveiled a new “Teen Clinic” and significantly expanded its diabetes care facilities on Monday. The Teen Clinic, costing Rs. 14 lakh, will provide comprehensive healthcare for adolescents aged 10-19, offering services in general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, psychiatry, nutrition, and dermatology. The clinic aims to address physical, emotional, and social health needs, promoting healthy lifestyles and addressing issues such as substance abuse, obesity, and menstrual irregularities.

Simultaneously, Health Minister Ma. Subramanian and Minister P.K. Sekar Babu inaugurated a Centre of Excellence for Diabetology, featuring a Cardiovascular Kidney Metabolic (CKM) clinic and a temporal bone dissection skill lab (costing Rs. 2.40 crore). The Centre boasts new laboratory equipment, including capabilities for nerve conduction studies, sarcopenia assessment, and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. An adult Type 1 diabetes clinic has also been established. The CKM clinic offers integrated care for diabetic patients with cardiovascular and renal complications, providing consultations from diabetologists, cardiologists, and nephrologists under one roof. The temporal bone dissection skill lab will provide training for ENT doctors statewide.
