**Madurai, Tamil Nadu – April 28, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu Revenue Officials Association (TNROA) has lauded the state government’s recent announcement of nine new benefits for its employees, stating that the measures have restored confidence in the DMK administration. The package includes the reinstatement of the Earned Leave surrender system by October 1st, impacting an estimated eight lakh government employees and teachers.
Further benefits include a doubled festival advance (from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000), and increased education advances to ₹1 lakh for professional programs and ₹50,000 for arts, science, and polytechnic programs. The government also announced the formation of a committee to review the Old Pension Scheme, Contributory Pension Scheme, and Unified Pension Scheme.
While welcoming the majority of the announcements, the TNROA urged the government to reconsider a recent government order that weakens the process for providing compassionate appointments to the heirs of deceased government employees.
