Describing the attack as the deadliest since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Yojna Patel, emphasized the global community’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

Ambassador Patel spoke at the launch of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism’s Victims of Terrorism Association Network (VoTAN), highlighting the unequivocal support received from world leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, among others. The UN Security Council also issued a press statement strongly condemning the attack and demanding accountability for the perpetrators.

The attack, which primarily targeted tourists, underscored the ongoing threat of terrorism and the devastating impact on victims and their families. Ambassador Patel emphasized the importance of initiatives like VoTAN in providing support and a platform for victims’ voices to be heard. The network aims to foster collaboration and resilience among victims worldwide.
