**Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, April 29, 2025** – Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, undertook a day-long visit to his parliamentary constituency of Rae Bareli on Tuesday. His itinerary included a visit to the Modern Coach Factory, where he met with officials to discuss operations and future plans. Mr. Gandhi also chaired a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, focusing on the timely implementation of development programs. The visit culminated in the unveiling of a Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue.
Senior Congress leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari, highlighted the Gandhi family’s long-standing commitment to the development of Rae Bareli and Amethi. However, Mr. Tiwari criticized the central government for allegedly failing to adequately support the Modern Coach Factory, a key employer in the region, describing the alleged neglect as “political vendetta.”
Later, Mr. Gandhi is scheduled to visit the family of Shubham Dwivedi, a Kanpur resident killed in a recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai confirmed the visit and reiterated the party’s support for granting Dwivedi martyr status.
