**Los Angeles, CA** – CBS has canceled its freshman comedy series, “Poppa’s House,” starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., after just one season. The show, which featured the father-son duo as a talk radio host and his adult son, respectively, was the only CBS scripted freshman series not to receive a renewal.
Despite receiving a full-season order in November, “Poppa’s House” ultimately failed to match the ratings of other CBS comedies like “Ghosts,” “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” and “The Neighborhood,” all of which have been renewed. The show’s performance led to attempts to reduce its budget, but ultimately proved insufficient to secure its return.
