**Mangalore, India (April 29, 2025)** – Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) announced a significant decrease in its net profit for the 2024-25 financial year, despite record production levels. While the company reported a ₹363 crore net profit in the fourth quarter and ₹51 crore for the full year, this represents a sharp drop compared to the ₹584 crore and ₹3,596 crore profits achieved in the same periods of the previous year.
Despite the reduced profit, MRPL highlighted record-breaking achievements. The company processed a record 18.044 million tonnes of crude oil, exceeding the previous high of 17.116 million tonnes. Distillate yield also reached a new high of 81.93%, and production of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), reformate, and benzene all saw significant increases.
The company attributed the reduced profit to factors not detailed in the release, despite a slight increase in revenue from operations to ₹1,09,277 crore for FY 2024-25, compared to ₹1,05,223 crore the previous year. MRPL also announced the commissioning of a new marketing terminal near Bengaluru and the addition of 66 new retail outlets. The board of directors approved these results at a meeting on April 26th.
