**Bengaluru, India (April 29, 2025)** – The Karnataka Lokayukta has severely reprimanded the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bengaluru’s civic body, for widespread failures in solid waste management. Following a hearing on April 28th, the Lokayukta cited photographic evidence and suo motu complaints detailing numerous issues across several zones, including uncleared garbage piles, black spots, and a lack of adherence to waste segregation norms.
Senior BBMP officials, including Zonal and Joint Commissioners, appeared before Justice B.S. Patil, who expressed strong criticism of their performance.
