**Haryana, India –** Four individuals, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with the horrific gang rape of a woman and the murder of her five-year-old daughter in Haryana. The incident, which occurred on April 21st, involved the woman being dragged from her home to a garbage dump where she was gang-raped. Her daughter, who went searching for her mother, was also sexually assaulted and subsequently strangled.
The 35-year-old mother, who suffered severe trauma, regained consciousness several days later and filed a police complaint on April 24th. The girl’s body, which had been buried by the family, was exhumed and an investigation launched. Police apprehended the four suspects – Hamid Khan (46), Shiva and Biru (both 18), and a 13-year-old boy – on April 26th. Authorities believe a prior altercation with a neighbor may have triggered the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
