Tue Apr 29 15:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Starc Ends Powerplay Drought Against Former Team KKR

**New Delhi** – Mitchell Starc, the expensive Delhi Capitals recruit, ended a six-game powerplay wicket drought in style against his former team, Kolkata Knight Riders, today at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The Australian left-arm pacer, acquired for INR 11.75 crore at the mega auction, had gone 69 balls without a powerplay wicket following a strong start to the season.

After a shaky start against KKR, conceding two fours and a six in his second over, Starc bounced back, bowling around the wicket to dismiss Rahmanullah Gurbaz with a full ball that nipped back and took the edge. Despite ending the drought, Starc’s powerplay spell remained expensive, costing 35 runs in his three overs. The Capitals’ star bowler continues to search for the form he displayed early in the season.
