**ALEXANDRIA, MN** – Two local golfers are set to compete in the prestigious 2025 PGA Professional Championship, taking place April 27-30 at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Brady Swedberg of Geneva Golf Club and Scott McDonald of Minnewaska Golf Club have qualified for the tournament, representing Alexandria and the surrounding area.

Swedberg and McDonald earned their spots by finishing in the top eight at the 94th Minnesota PGA Professional Championship in August. Swedberg tied for third with an 8-under-par score, while McDonald secured the final qualifying spot with a 5-under-par finish. They are two of seven Minnesota PGA professionals competing nationally.

The PGA Professional Championship boasts a field of 312 golfers. The top 20 finishers will earn a coveted spot in the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 15-18.

Golf Channel will provide coverage of the event, with round one airing on a tape delay on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT, and the final three rounds broadcast from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. CT. The Alexandria community will be rooting for Swedberg and McDonald as they compete for a national title and a chance to play in the PGA Championship.
