**Bengaluru, April 29, 2025** – The Soladevanahalli police are investigating a hoax bomb threat email sent to Acharya Institutes on Tuesday. Following the threat, police conducted anti-sabotage checks and determined the threat to be unfounded.
An FIR has been filed against an unknown individual under Section 351(4) (criminal intimidation committed anonymously) based on a complaint from the college’s Chief Operating Officer, Manish Kumar Thakur. The email claimed a bomb had been placed in the college and threatened the principal’s life. Police are analyzing the email’s IP address to identify the sender. Authorities suspect the email may be part of a phishing attempt or intended to cause disruption.
This incident follows similar hoax bomb threats received by three other prominent colleges in west Bengaluru last week. The investigation is ongoing.
