Mon Apr 28 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Pacers’ Mathurin Out of Game 4 with Abdominal Contusion

**Milwaukee, WI** – Indiana Pacers rookie star Bennedict Mathurin will miss Game 4 of their first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks due to an abdominal contusion, coach Rick Carlisle announced Sunday. Mathurin sustained the injury during a collision with Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 3.

The absence of Mathurin, who averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds during the regular season and 12.0 points in the playoffs so far, is a significant blow to the Pacers. The 2022 first-round pick, the first Pacer to earn All-Rookie First Team honors since 1989, had a breakout rookie season and ranks third among 2022 draftees in scoring.

With Mathurin sidelined, second-year players Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker are expected to see increased playing time off the bench. The Pacers will need their supporting cast to step up to compensate for the loss of their young scoring threat.
