Mon Apr 28 12:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Shakti Dube Tops 2024 Civil Services Exam, Score Slightly Lower Than 2023 Topper
**Prayagraj, India** – Shakti Dube has secured the top rank in the 2024 Civil Services Examination, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced. Dube scored a total of 1043 marks, achieving 843 in the mains examination and 200 in the interview. This represents 51.5% of the total possible marks (2025).
Interestingly, Dube’s score is slightly lower than that of Aditya Srivastava, the 2023 topper, who achieved 1099 marks (899 in mains and 200 in the interview). This indicates a potentially higher difficulty level in the 2024 written examination.
Dube, a native of Prayagraj who hails from a family in Ballia, completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School, Ghurpur, and earned her BSc and MSc degrees from Allahabad University and Banaras Hindu University respectively, achieving gold medals in both. She opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects in the UPSC exam. After preparing for the exam in Prayagraj, she moved to Delhi for focused preparation.
Her mother revealed that Dube narrowly missed selection in 2023 by just two marks, but persevered and ultimately achieved success in 2024. Her father, Devendra Dwivedi, serves in the traffic police.
