Mon Apr 28 12:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Kota Girl Anushree Sachiyan Cracks UPSC, Secures 220th Rank
**Kota, Rajasthan:** Anushree Sachiyan, a resident of Kota and daughter of a BSNl Divisional Engineer, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 220th rank in the 2024 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination. Her journey is particularly inspiring, as she achieved this success without any specialized coaching, leveraging the academic environment of Kota, where she initially came to prepare for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) in 2015.
Sachiyan, originally from Lucknow, moved to Kota with her family to pursue her engineering aspirations. After securing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from IIT Bombay in 2017, she decided to pursue the civil services. Despite facing setbacks, including failing the preliminary exams in 2021 and 2023 and achieving a rank of 633 in 2022, her perseverance paid off. She attributed her success to consistent hard work, rigorous revision, and the unwavering support of her family. She identified her weakness in Chemistry (her optional subject) and diligently worked to overcome it through practice and test series.
Sachiyan’s daily routine involved 10 hours of dedicated study. She turned down a job offer from a bank and a research opportunity at the Technical University of Munich to focus on her UPSC preparation.
Her mother, Sharmila, a homemaker, and father, Sushil, expressed immense pride in their daughter’s achievement, crediting Kota’s conducive learning environment for the success of both Anushree and her brother, Aviril, who is currently pursuing a B.Tech degree from IIT Guwahati. The family’s dedication and Anushree’s disciplined approach serve as an inspiring example for aspiring civil servants.
