**MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (April 28, 2025)** — A shooting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, left 11 people injured and one person dead on Saturday night, authorities reported. Police responded to a disturbance involving multiple individuals where gunfire erupted. In the ensuing chaos, a Myrtle Beach officer shot and killed an 18-year-old identified as Jerrius Davis.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard stated that the officer acted swiftly to prevent further casualties, saying the situation “could have been so much worse.” Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune echoed this sentiment, supporting the officer’s actions as appropriate given the immediate threat.
