**Islamabad, Pakistan –** Following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that killed 26 people on Tuesday, Pakistan has vowed a strong response to any Indian aggression while simultaneously expressing its willingness to cooperate in an independent investigation. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack, the deadliest in the Valley since 2019.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with his Chinese and British counterparts, briefing them on the situation. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability while emphasizing the country’s readiness for an independent and transparent probe into the Pahalgam incident. China expressed unwavering support for Pakistan. The UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, stressed the importance of de-escalation through dialogue.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar issued a strong warning to India, stating that Pakistan possesses the capability to respond forcefully to any provocation.
