BENGALURU, INDIA – April 27, 2025 – Over 35,000 runners participated in the 17th annual TCS World 10K Bengaluru on Sunday, making it a vibrant display of athleticism and community spirit. The event, held under sunny skies, saw a diverse range of participants, showcasing remarkable stories of perseverance and dedication.

Among the runners was Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, who expressed inspiration at seeing cancer survivors, new mothers, and others overcoming personal challenges. Veteran runner Thomas Bobby Philip, participating for his 15th consecutive year, highlighted the importance of barefoot running and praised the race route.

The event also celebrated inclusivity. Bimla Banwala, 57, completed the race in traditional Indian attire, defying past objections she faced from fellow runners. Ketan Abhonkar added a unique twist, juggling three balls throughout the 10km run. Sathya Mahadev, a specially-abled participant, also completed the race, praising the event’s accessibility.

Several NGOs, including Amar Seva Sangam, participated to raise awareness and funds for various causes, highlighting the event’s wider social impact. Even families joined in the fun, like the family of four who participated together, fueled by a fitness-enthusiast father.
