Mon Apr 28 02:03:18 UTC 2025: ## Indian Ministers Resign Amidst Rising Tensions with Pakistan

**CHENNAI, INDIA (April 28, 2025)** – Tamil Nadu’s Forest Minister K. Ponmudy and Electricity Minister V. Senthilbalaji resigned Sunday night, following strong court remarks. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has recommended their resignations be accepted and has proposed former Minister Mano Thangaraj as their replacement, scheduled to be sworn in today.

This news comes amidst escalating tensions along the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan continued ceasefire violations for a third consecutive night, prompting India to conduct joint Navy and Air Force exercises on Sunday. Pakistan has also reportedly mobilized equipment near the LoC, while India conducted anti-ship firing drills. These actions follow a recent terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.

Opposition parties are considering a joint appeal to convene a special session of Parliament in response to the Pahalgam attack. Congress is consulting with allies within the INDIA bloc to build consensus on this request.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to regional peace and stability in a phone call between their foreign ministers. The conversation followed the Pahalgam attack.

On the sports front, Krunal Pandya’s unbeaten 73 helped Royal Challengers Bangalore secure a crucial IPL victory against Delhi Capitals.
