**KASARAGOD, INDIA (April 28, 2025)** – A 22-year-old man, identified as Savad, suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh after investigating a suspicious light in bushes near Bakrabail, Manjeswaram, late last night. Police say Savad was riding his bike home when he noticed the light emanating from the bushes. Upon approaching to investigate, he was shot.
Despite his injury, Savad managed to alert nearby residents and was transported to a hospital in Mangaluru. Doctors have confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening. Following the incident, locals discovered a device resembling a makeshift firearm attached to a nearby tree.
The Manjeswaram police have launched an investigation into the shooting. The nature of the device and the motive behind the incident remain unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
