**Hyderabad, April 28, 2025** – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a major crackdown today on alleged land grabbing in Hyderabad, conducting raids at five locations as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of Bhoodan lands in Maheshwaram. The raids targeted properties, including farmhouses and real estate assets in Yakutpura, belonging to individuals suspected of involvement in the scam.
The investigation centers on allegations that land designated for the poor under the Bhoodan Yagna movement was fraudulently sold using forged documents. The accused include land dealers, real estate players like Kondapalli Sridhar Reddy of EIPL Constructions, and government officials. Senior IAS officer Amoy Kumar has already been summoned by the ED.
The case stems from a complaint filed in March 2023 by Mehdipatnam resident Dastagir Shareef, which led to an FIR against the Maheshwaram MRO and others. Separately, the High Court has ordered a status quo on Bhoodan lands in survey numbers 181 and 182 in Nagaram, while CS Santhi Kumari has requested a four-week extension to submit a report on the matter. The state government has also appointed a three-member IAS officer committee to investigate the land sales.
