Mon Apr 28 16:20:00 UTC 2025: **Veteran Ishant Sharma Impresses with Pace Despite Age in IPL 2025**

**Ahmedabad, April 28, 2025** – Gujarat Titans’ veteran pacer Ishant Sharma is turning heads in IPL 2025, showcasing impressive pace despite being 36 years old. While his wicket tally stands at only three wickets in five matches this season, his consistently high speed of 140 kph is drawing attention. Sharma’s renewed pace is attributed to rigorous training at a Gurgaon space lab under the guidance of coaches Jones and Mendiratta.

This season marks a notable achievement for Sharma. In a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), he dismissed RCB captain Rajat Patidar, mirroring a feat from 2008 when he dismissed then-RCB captain Rahul Dravid with the first ball of his first over for Kolkata Knight Riders. This time, he achieved the dismissal with the second ball of his first over, a remarkable coincidence 18 years later.

Despite a less-than-stellar start to the current IPL season (conceding 17 runs in two overs against Mumbai Indians without taking a wicket), Sharma’s consistent speed and experience make him a valuable asset to the Gujarat Titans. With 96 wickets in 115 IPL matches, the veteran bowler aims to reach the 100-wicket milestone this season. His best IPL performance remains 5 wickets for 12 runs, achieved in 2011. Sharma’s resurgence makes him a player to watch closely in the remaining matches.
