**Palakkad, Kerala – April 29, 2025** – A young tusker, estimated to be 15 years old, succumbed to injuries sustained during a clash with another elephant herd in Attappady, Kerala. The animal was found with severe wounds on Friday, April 25th, and died Monday morning before forest officials could provide treatment.
The clash between the elephant herds occurred on March 29th near Pottikkal. A post-mortem examination revealed the tusker died from internal injuries sustained in the conflict. The carcass was subsequently buried. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges of wildlife conflict in the region.
