**Mumbai, April 27, 2025** – A 26-year-old woman, Priyanka Kamble, allegedly strangled her six-year-old daughter, Vaishnavi, before taking her own life in Navi Mumbai’s Ghansoli area on April 23rd, police confirmed on Sunday.
Initial reports filed by the husband suggested an accidental death, but an autopsy revealed Vaishnavi died from strangulation. Police have subsequently registered a murder case under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the deceased mother, based on the husband’s complaint. The husband stated that Kamble suffered from high blood pressure and was experiencing significant mental distress.
