Sun Apr 27 12:01:18 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka BJP Leader Calls for CM’s Resignation After Anti-War Stance

**Belagavi, Karnataka, April 27, 2025** – BJP MP Jagadish Shettar has sharply criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his opposition to a war with Pakistan following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Shettar, speaking on Sunday, suggested Siddaramaiah’s statement, which advocated for strengthened security measures instead of war, was inappropriate and even suggested the CM relocate to Pakistan.

The Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of several tourists including three from Karnataka, prompted calls for retaliation against Pakistan. While Prime Minister Modi vowed to punish the terrorists, CM Siddaramaiah’s statement calling for peace and urging the central government to focus on enhanced security has drawn ire from Shettar and the BJP.

Shettar accused Siddaramaiah of appeasing Pakistan and the Muslim community in India, claiming his statement had been welcomed by Pakistanis. He asserted that the decision to wage war rests solely with the Union government and criticized Siddaramaiah’s stance as unbecoming of a leader. Shettar further argued that inaction would embolden future terrorist attacks and advocated for stronger measures against Pakistan.
