**Hyderabad, [Date]:** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for thunderstorms and gusty winds across several districts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The warning comes amidst a period of rising temperatures and reports of heatstroke-related deaths.
Telangana is expected to experience moderate to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several districts. An orange alert has been issued for Karimnagar, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Peddapalli, and Bhupalpally districts, indicating the possibility of moderate rainfall and strong winds. A yellow alert, indicating light rainfall, has been issued for Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Sircilla districts.
Andhra Pradesh is also expected to see thunderstorms and lightning, particularly in the northern coastal areas, according to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA). Strong winds are anticipated in Kakinada, Kirlampudi, and Eleswaram mandals. The APSDMA has warned of severe wind gusts in a total of 17 mandals. YSR district recorded a high of 43 degrees Celsius yesterday.
The IMD urges residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the inclement weather. The alerts come as a welcome relief from the intense heatwave currently impacting the Telugu states.
