**ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI** – Escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, triggered by a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed at least 28 tourists, have led to a complete severing of diplomatic ties and a ripple effect across various sectors, including sports.
Following India’s expulsion order for all Pakistani nationals and the halting of all trade, Pakistan has expelled 23 Indian broadcasters working on the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The broadcasters, involved in technical and production roles for the ongoing PSL 10, were reportedly sent back across the Wagha border on Saturday. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to release an official statement, backup arrangements are reportedly underway to ensure uninterrupted PSL broadcasts.
The diplomatic fallout has also impacted PSL coverage in India. Following government instructions, FanCode, the official PSL streaming partner, has ceased live streaming of matches within India. Similarly, Sony Network, the satellite TV broadcasting partner, is expected to suspend its coverage.
The PSL, which began on April 11th and concludes on May 18th, continues despite these disruptions. The escalating conflict between the two nations continues to cast a shadow over various aspects of bilateral relations.
