**TOLEDO, OH** – Get ready Toledo! The 48th annual Mercy Health Glass City Marathon is set to take place this Sunday, bringing a weekend of races and festivities to the city. Over 1,700 runners are expected to participate in the marathon alone, with a significant portion qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

The event, hosted by the Toledo Roadrunners Club and sanctioned by USA Track & Field, offers a variety of races for all ages and abilities, including a half-marathon, 5K, a 5-person relay marathon, and a kids’ run. A Health Expo will be held at Savage Arena on Friday and Saturday, allowing for in-person registration and packet pickup.

**Road Closures Planned:** Extensive road closures are planned throughout the weekend, particularly around the University of Toledo campus and surrounding areas in west Toledo, Ottawa Hills, Sylvania, and Sylvania Township. Closures will be in effect from early Sunday morning until late morning, with a rolling pattern designed to minimize disruption. Specific road closures and times are detailed on the Glass City Marathon website. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and avoid affected areas if possible. Significant closures are also planned on Saturday morning for the 5K and children’s races.

**Spectator Information:** Spectators are encouraged to download the RaceJoy app to track runners and send encouraging messages. WTOL 11 will also provide a recap of the event during their evening newscast. Designated viewing areas, including Rally Row (a spectator cheering section), will be available along the race route.

**Registration:** Registration for all races is still available online or in person at the Health Expo. For more information, including detailed road closure maps and registration details, visit the official Mercy Health Glass City Marathon website.
