**Amaravati, April 26, 2025** – A severe heatwave is gripping North Andhra and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh, causing widespread distress. Temperatures soared above 40°C (104°F) in 169 mandals across the state on Friday. The highest temperatures were recorded in Kadapa district’s Vemumpalle at 42.9°C, followed by 42.5°C in Nandyal district’s Gajulapalle and Tirupati district’s Venkatagiri, and 42.4°C in Kurnool district’s Laddigari. Authorities are urging residents to take precautions against the intense heat.
