**Visakhapatnam, April 26, 2025** – Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lalit Bohra conducted a thorough inspection of the Jagdalpur-Kottavalasa railway section and the NMDC mining site on Saturday. The inspection covered railway establishments, stations, sidings, and the NMDC site, including a detailed track inspection focusing on condition, curves, bridges, and crossings.
Key areas of focus included the ongoing doubling of the Jagdalpur-Koraput-Kottavalasa line, station development, safety improvements, and siding facility development. Bohra also reviewed the NMDC’s wagon discharge silo system, designed to accelerate wagon loading and boost operational efficiency.
Discussions with senior NMDC officials centered on improving freight loading operations, aiming to increase rake loading capacity, traffic volume for both the railways and NMDC, and ultimately generate additional revenue for both parties. The DRM also interacted with station staff in Jagdalpur and Amagura, reviewing the progress of ongoing developmental projects. The Chief Engineer/Construction Gourishankar Rao and Waltair branch officers accompanied the DRM during the inspection.
