**New Delhi, April 27** – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a thrilling victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in a closely fought IPL 2025 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium today. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, RCB restricted DC to 162/8, despite a 41-run knock by KL Rahul. Josh Hazlewood’s impressive bowling performance earned him the purple cap. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also starred for RCB with 3 wickets.
DC’s innings lacked a significant contribution from any single batsman, with Abhishek Porel’s 28 and Tristan Stubbs’ 34 being the notable exceptions.
In response, RCB’s chase was initially shaky, losing three early wickets. However, a magnificent 111-run partnership between Virat Kohli (50 runs) and Krunal Pandya (67 runs) steered RCB to victory with 18 balls to spare. Kohli and Pandya’s composed batting display proved pivotal in overcoming the early setbacks.
The match saw several key moments, including the inclusion of Jacob Bethel in RCB’s playing XI in place of Phil Salt, and the return of Faf du Plessis to the DC squad. This was the second encounter between the two teams this season, with DC having won the first match. RCB successfully avenged that defeat with a hard-fought win on their rivals’ home turf. The victory further solidified RCB’s position in the tournament.
