**Vijayawada, April 27, 2025** – A CPI(M) delegation led by State Secretariat member Ch. Baburao has criticized the slow progress of construction work on Central government institutions in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The delegation inspected land allotted to 41 institutions, totaling over 300 acres, finding minimal development despite land allocation nearly a decade ago.
Baburao blamed the lack of progress on the Central government’s negligence, stating that many institutions haven’t even taken possession of the land due to funding and approval issues. He pointed out that only a few have constructed boundary walls. He further criticized both the previous YSRCP and the current coalition government for failing to pressure the Centre to expedite the process.
The CPI(M) is demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his upcoming visit on May 2nd, issue directives to complete the construction within six months. A total of 1,277 acres were allotted to 114 institutions in Amaravati, with the delayed Central projects highlighting a broader concern about the city’s development. The party called for immediate action to demonstrate the government’s commitment to Amaravati’s future.
