Sun Apr 27 17:22:48 UTC 2025: **BJP Leaders Attack Congress at Bihar Dalit Mahapanchayat**

PATNA, Bihar – April 27, 2025 – Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and senior Bihar BJP leaders launched a scathing attack on the Congress party at a Dalit Mahapanchayat in Patna on Sunday. The event, organized by the Bihar Ravidas Vikas Sangh Parivar, honored B.R. Ambedkar.

Meghwal and Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, accused the Congress of neglecting Dalit welfare during its long tenure in power. Meghwal compared the consistency of sandalwood’s fragrance to the integrity of a person, contrasting it with what he described as the discrepancy between the Congress’ words and actions regarding Dalit rights. He also alleged a Congress conspiracy against Ambedkar.

Jaiswal echoed these sentiments, highlighting the NDA government’s efforts to uplift the Dalit community. He criticized the Congress’ “Garibi Hatao” (remove poverty) slogan as empty rhetoric, pointing to the lack of land provided for Ambedkar’s final rites as evidence of the party’s disrespect. He contrasted this with the NDA government’s construction of Ambedkar’s memorial and the posthumous Bharat Ratna award.

Choudhary further emphasized the NDA government’s commitment to Dalit welfare, citing various schemes implemented in Bihar, including increased scholarships and the construction of Savitribai Phule hostels. He highlighted the government’s reservation policies and the distribution of Ayushman cards.

The event, clearly aimed at garnering Dalit votes, featured floral tributes to Ambedkar by all attending leaders. The BJP’s strong criticism of the Congress underscores the political significance of the Dalit vote in the upcoming elections.
