Sat Apr 26 19:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Sacramento’s 2025 X Games Postponed to Focus on New League Launch

**SACRAMENTO, Calif. (ABC10 News) —** The highly anticipated 2025 X Games in Sacramento have been postponed. The decision, announced by X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom, prioritizes the launch of the groundbreaking X Games League (XGL), a new global competition platform slated for Summer 2026.

Bloom stated that postponing the Sacramento event allows the X Games to fully focus on the XGL’s debut. He emphasized that this is not a cancellation, but a postponement, with plans to bring the X Games to Sacramento at a later date.

The postponement is a setback for Sacramento, which had secured a three-year partnership to host the X Games at Cal Expo from 2025-2027. The event, scheduled for August 24-26, 2025, was to mark the X Games’ 30th anniversary.

Despite the disappointment, Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty expressed enthusiasm for a future X Games event in the city, stating, “While we’re bummed the X Games are postponed, we look forward to an epic X Games 2026!” Cal Expo CEO Tom Martinez echoed this sentiment, highlighting their continued commitment to partnering with the X Games organizers.

Further details about the XGL will be released this fall.
