Sun Apr 27 14:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Veteran Cricketer Warns Young IPL Star Against Early Success
**Mumbai, India** – Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest ever player to debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the age of 14 years and 23 days, has received a stern warning from former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. Suryavanshi, who hit a six off his very first IPL delivery and secured a lucrative contract, is being cautioned against letting early success get to his head.
Speaking on a Cricbuzz show, Sehwag emphasized the importance of humility and long-term vision. He cautioned Suryavanshi against complacency, citing examples of players whose careers fizzled out after initial bursts of fame. Sehwag advised Suryavanshi to emulate the longevity of Virat Kohli, who started playing at 19 and has played in all 18 IPL seasons. He stressed the need for Suryavanshi to focus on a long and successful IPL career rather than be satisfied with early achievements and financial gains. Sehwag warned that if Suryavanshi allows his early success to breed overconfidence, his IPL career may be short-lived.
