**MADRID, SPAIN** – American tennis player Ann Li secured her place in the third round of the Madrid Open after a hard-fought victory over Canadian Leylah Fernandez. Li, ranked 62nd in the world, defeated the 25th-seeded Fernandez in a three-set thriller, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, at the Caja Mágica on Thursday.
