Fri Apr 25 15:52:35 UTC 2025: ## Gaza Death Toll Rises After Israeli Airstrikes
**Gaza City, Palestinian Territories –** The death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has climbed sharply, with at least 34 additional fatalities reported on April 25th, 2025. A devastating attack on a residential building in Jabalia, northern Gaza, raised the death toll from that incident alone to 23, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. Eleven bodies were recovered overnight. Another airstrike targeting a former police station in Jabalia resulted in 11 deaths, bringing the total casualties from that attack to 11. A separate strike in Khan Yunis killed a pregnant woman, her husband, and their three children.
These latest attacks come as Israel continues its military offensive in Gaza, which resumed in March after a two-month ceasefire collapsed. The overall death toll in Gaza since the resumption of the offensive now stands at 1,978, bringing the total war death toll to 51,355, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. Israel’s military maintains that consistent pressure is needed to secure the release of hostages still held in Gaza following the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. That attack resulted in the deaths of 1,218 Israelis, mostly civilians. The ongoing conflict continues to cause widespread suffering and loss of life.
