**CHENNAI, April 25, 2025** – AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami was the target of a hoax bomb threat on Friday, police confirmed. An anonymous person sent an email to Mr. Palaniswami’s official address, claiming a bomb would detonate at his Greenways Road residence and along his usual route to the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
Following the threat, a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad thoroughly searched both locations, determining the threat to be a hoax. A police investigation into the origin of the threat is currently underway.
