Sat Apr 26 02:20:33 UTC 2025: ## Indian Community Protests Pahalgam Attack as Pakistanis Ordered to Leave India
**London/New Delhi, April 26, 2025** – A deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has resulted in the deaths of at least 26 people, including two foreign tourists. The attack, carried out by terrorists from the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group, has prompted swift action from the Indian government.
Following the Tuesday attack, India ordered 191 Pakistani nationals to leave the country within 48 hours. These individuals departed via the Attari-Wagah border on Friday. Simultaneously, 287 Indian citizens visiting Pakistan have also returned home.
The attack occurred while US Vice President J.D. Vance was on a four-day visit to India. Mr. Vance expressed condolences to the victims and their families.
Indian security forces have responded with intensified operations, resulting in the killing of an LeT terrorist associate, Altaf Lalli, in Bandipora. A hideout was also discovered and dismantled in Kulgam, with numerous arrests made. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is actively gathering witness testimonies.
Members of the Indian diaspora in London held a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission to condemn the violence. The death toll from the Pahalgam attack is expected to rise as several individuals remain critically injured. Official casualty figures are yet to be released by the government.
