**NEW DELHI, April 26, 2025** – Delhi police have arrested a man, Karamveer, for a shocking incident in which he allegedly dragged a head constable on the bonnet of his car for seven kilometers. The incident occurred on April 22nd near the Bhalswa landfill.
According to police, Head Constable Praveen and Assistant Sub-Inspector Naveen attempted to stop Karamveer’s car, suspecting illegal liquor transportation. When asked to stop, Karamveer sped off, running over the head constable who had positioned himself in front of the vehicle. Praveen clung to the bonnet for the entire seven-kilometer journey, finally jumping off near Azadpur Mandi when the car slowed.
Praveen sustained injuries to his hands and feet and was treated at BJRM Hospital. He used a passerby’s phone to alert the police after the incident. Karamveer fled to Kolkata, but was apprehended by Delhi police and charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
