Sat Apr 26 06:20:00 UTC 2025: **LSU-Tennessee Baseball Game Postponed Due to Weather**
BATON ROUGE, LA – Inclement weather has forced a delay for the highly anticipated three-game series between the No. 4 LSU Tigers and the No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers. The opening game, originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, April 25th, has been postponed to 9:50 p.m. CT due to bad weather in the Baton Rouge area.
The series, a rematch of last year’s College World Series encounter, will still feature a packed weekend of baseball at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The remaining games are scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. CT (ESPNU) and Sunday at 2 p.m. CT (SEC Network). Friday’s game will be streamed on SEC Network+. All games will also be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
The weekend also includes several special events, including a celebration of the 50th anniversary of LSU’s 1975 SEC Championship on Friday, a book signing with LSU legend Skip Bertman on Saturday, and a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the 2000 National Championship. Sunday’s game will feature a free LSU baseball hat giveaway to the first 2,000 fans and a performance by rising country artist Timothy Wayne.
Despite the weather delay, both teams are eager to start the series. LSU leads the all-time series 62-33, but Tennessee has won the last four meetings. Pitching matchups for the series include Kade Anderson (LSU) vs. Liam Doyle (Tennessee) in game one, Anthony Eyanson (LSU) vs. Marcus Phillips (Tennessee) in game two, and TBA for game three. LSU head coach Jay Johnson expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome the setback and focus on the upcoming games.
