Sat Apr 26 10:06:10 UTC 2025: ## Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Faces Telangana Criticism During Hyderabad Visit

**HYDERABAD, INDIA (April 26, 2025)** – Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Indian National Congress and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, is visiting Hyderabad to participate in the Bharat Summit 2025. However, his visit has been met with sharp criticism from the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party in Telangana.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has challenged Mr. Gandhi to visit several locations in Telangana to witness the alleged negative consequences of the Congress government’s policies. These locations include a pharma cluster site where land acquisition reportedly led to “atrocities,” a site with a collapsed drinking water supply retaining wall, and areas affected by building demolitions. Mr. Rao also suggested Mr. Gandhi meet with university students, families of farmers who committed suicide, and job-seeking youngsters. He further suggested that Mr. Gandhi consult with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy regarding navigating ED cases.

BRS MLC K. Kavitha accused Mr. Gandhi of hypocrisy, highlighting alleged human rights violations during the Congress’s 16-month rule in Telangana. She criticized the party’s unfulfilled election promises, including a partial farm loan waiver, reduced farmer support schemes, and unmet pledges for women’s financial aid and gold. Ms. Kavitha questioned Mr. Gandhi’s silence on these alleged failures while promoting the Constitution during his travels. The BRS’s pointed criticism casts a shadow over Mr. Gandhi’s participation in the Bharat Summit.
