HYDERABAD, INDIA – April 26, 2025 – A two-day Bharat Summit concluded in Hyderabad today with the release of the “Hyderabad Resolution,” a declaration signed by delegates from 98 countries. The resolution emphasizes universal values such as solidarity, non-violence, truth, justice, and global unity, reaffirming a commitment to freedom, equality, and peace.
The summit expressed deep concern over the rise of far-right leaders and autocratic regimes, citing their erosion of democratic institutions, spread of disinformation, and attacks on civil rights and environmental protection. The declaration specifically condemned economic exploitation, corporate monopolies, and tax havens, advocating for progressive taxation, fair trade, and democratic control over essential resources.
Participants also underscored the urgent need for effective climate action, endorsing a Global Green Deal to protect vulnerable communities and facilitate a just energy transition. The resolution called for reforms within global institutions, particularly the United Nations, pushing for greater representation of emerging economies and the Global South. Furthermore, the summit advocated for the protection of civic institutions, opposition parties, independent media, and the digital sphere from authoritarian attacks. The resolution was released by prominent figures including AICC leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Ministers A. Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka.
