**VISAKHAPATNAM, April 26, 2025** – K.M. Ahmad, a former Collector of Visakhapatnam and president of the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA), passed away in the USA on April 25 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife Salma and daughter Ameena.
Ahmad’s passing was met with condolences from VDCA members, including secretary K. Parthasaradhi. He was remembered for his instrumental role in bringing renowned national cricket coach Col. Hemu Adhikari to Visakhapatnam in July 1976. At Ahmad’s request, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent Adhikari to conduct a one-month coaching camp for Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Under-22 players, organized by the VDCA.
