**New Delhi:** The Supreme Court on Friday refused to hear a plea filed by Borugadda Anil Kumar, currently in judicial remand on various charges, seeking a separate hearing on his main bail application. Kumar had argued that the High Court’s decision to investigate the authenticity of a medical certificate he submitted for interim bail should not affect the hearing of his primary bail plea.
The Supreme Court bench, comprising Justices B.V. Nagarathna and K.V. Viswanathan, noted that the High Court is already investigating the alleged fake medical certificate used to obtain interim bail. Justice Viswanathan observed that the authenticity of the certificate directly impacts the main bail application. While the court directed the High Court to expedite the hearing on the bail petition, it rejected Kumar’s request for a separate hearing independent of the investigation into the alleged forged document. The bench’s decision effectively links the outcome of the investigation into the alleged forged medical certificate to the hearing of his main bail application.
