Sat Apr 26 13:40:00 UTC 2025: ## McIlroy and Lowry Aim for Zurich Classic Repeat as Young Guns Challenge
**NEW ORLEANS, LA** – The Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s unique two-player team event, is underway, with reigning champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry entering as favorites to defend their title. While many top golfers took the week off, the team format has created a lively atmosphere and low scoring through the first two rounds. The tournament features alternating rounds of four-ball (best ball) and foursomes (alternate shot), resulting in lower scores on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Despite McIlroy and Lowry’s strong start, younger PGA Tour players are currently leading the pack. McIlroy is playing his first tournament since winning the Masters, aiming for a repeat of last year’s success which included a Sunday night karaoke session.
