Sat Apr 26 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Global Condemnation Follows Deadly Terrorist Attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir
**Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir –** A devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, sparking widespread international condemnation. The attack, the largest in Kashmir since the revocation of Article 370, has been attributed to The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Authorities have identified four attackers, two of whom, Hashim Musa alias Suleman and Ali Bhai alias Talha, are Pakistani nationals. The other two, Abdul Hussain Tokar and Asif, are Kashmiri locals who received training from LeT in 2018 before joining TRF.
The TRF, formed in 2019, initially operated primarily online, recruiting through propaganda and carrying out illegal activities. It has since grown to include foreign militants, enjoying support from local extremists. Indian intelligence agencies believe that the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) provide extensive support to TRF. The group is suspected of involvement in previous attacks in Sonmarg, Boota Pathri, and Ganderbal.
The Pahalgam attack involved a coordinated assault on a picnic spot in the Baisaran valley. The terrorists, disguised as soldiers, engaged tourists at three separate locations, killing them systematically. Some tourists were able to escape by jumping a fence. Following the attack, sketches of the involved terrorists were released by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
This incident follows a pattern where, after attacks, TRF members go into hiding, awaiting instructions from their handlers in Pakistan. Intelligence agencies suspect Hafiz Saeed, the LeT chief, of being the mastermind behind the Pahalgam massacre. The attack has drawn sharp criticism from India and the international community, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
