Fri Apr 25 16:54:33 UTC 2025: ## US Condemns Deadly Terror Attack in Kashmir, Vows Support for India

**New Delhi/Washington, April 25, 2025** – The United States has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, on Tuesday. The attack, claimed by the Resistance Front (a proxy of the Lashkar-e-Taiba), is the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack.

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard expressed solidarity with India, stating that America stands with the country as it investigates the perpetrators. She offered her condolences to the victims’ families and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Similar sentiments were expressed by President Donald Trump in a phone call with PM Modi, and reiterated by State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce, who condemned the attack and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. While acknowledging the severity of the situation and the potential involvement of Pakistan, the State Department declined to comment further on the matter or on any mediating role the US might play.

Several other US officials, including Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Senators Cory Booker and Chris Murphy, also issued statements condemning the attack and expressing support for India. They offered condolences to the victims and their families and called for the swift apprehension of those responsible. The statements underscore the strong condemnation of the attack from across the political spectrum in the United States.
