**Vellore, April 26, 2025** – Three men were arrested on Friday for smuggling ganja into the Central Prison in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Bagayam police apprehended S. Mohan (24), V. Harish (22), and Mohammed Jaffer (25) after a prison constable witnessed them attempting to pass a small packet of ganja to an inmate, K. Vishnu (22).

The suspects, Mohan and Harish, reportedly concealed the ganja in their mouths during a prison visit. A subsequent search led to the arrest of Jaffer, who allegedly supplied the ganja. Approximately 50 grams of the drug were seized. All three have been charged and remanded to the same prison they attempted to supply contraband to. The investigation is ongoing.
